Crocheted Afghan Square Gift Box

Monday, December 19, 2011

Another gift box - about 3" X 3".

Just make 4 afghan squares with extra long yarn for sewing. Make another square for the base (no extra long yarn this time). I copied the rows of the "Girly Gift Box" to make the top.

Since it's for Christmas, I used a white with silver yarn (w/ 4mm hook).

Birthday Greeting from the Frog Prince

From the "Once Upon A Princess" Cricut cartridge, I used the frog prince and the birthday tag to say "Happy birthday". I then cut a square shaped card stock and added the running stitch border using a marker. The flat card was taped on top of the gift box.

Perfect for the princesses themed party!

Made a crown and wand as a birthday present for a 3 year old. Her baby sister also liked it! :-)

Here's the crown with my owl modeling it. You can check the post about how I made the owl: Crocheted Owl Hat.

Cut off a long length of tail for attaching to face. Sew in hat.

Update:

Made another for a baby shower matched with a pink hat for the big sister, too!

This pink hat was made for a 2-y.o. toddler and so I made the hat about 3 inches smaller in circumference. In hat pattern, round 5 onwards is just 52 stitches.

This blue one is for the baby expected to arrive in a month. The hat stops increasing after 32 stitches and instead of 14 rows, it was just 11. Just an estimate - I have to see the kids wear it to verify the measurements.
